一对爱恋的男女，因时局的动荡而不能在一起。于是女主人公就把一首唐代伟大诗人白居易的《长恨歌》：“在天愿作比翼鸟，在地愿为连理枝。天长地久有时尽，此恨绵绵无绝期。”写在一幅象征“荣华富贵”的牡丹图上一起给了自己心爱的恋人，但他们的爱情故事犹如诗中所描述。“爱到极致便是恨”。时过境迁，“牡丹图”在一次事件中下落不明。多年过去。已是暮年的男主人公带着仅存的记忆和遗憾，跨越时间与空间寻找这幅带着思念与爱的“牡丹图”。然而，人性的贪婪，为他的寻找之旅设下多重关卡…。这是一个情感跨越种族、亲情和友情的故事，整部都在以不同的方式歌颂人性的伟大......。Somewhere in Myanmar is a forest rich in amber and controlled by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA). Most of its inhabitants work in a mine, digging the earth night and days in the hope of finding the precious ore that will get them out of poverty. But on top of the excruciating hardship of the work, they also have to fear an attack from the army.。
