The children exper...。罗杰（威廉姆·卡特 William Katt 饰）曾是一名拼杀在前线的军人，退伍之后，他决定重拾自己曾经的梦想，转行成为了一名作家。罗杰将自己在战场上的所见所闻当成了写作的题材，他的恐怖小说一经发表很快就收获了大批的粉丝。然而，随着时间的推移，罗杰的灵感渐渐的枯竭了。某日，罗杰的儿子无故失踪，这带给了罗杰非常巨大的打击，他和妻子之间的关系也因此每况愈下，最终走向了离婚。 一天，罗杰意外的收到了姨妈自杀的消息，他也因此再度回到了姨妈留下的房子里，这里是罗杰的伤心地，他的儿子就是在这里失踪的。罗杰决定暂时搬到这栋阴森恐怖的宅子中，在这里进行自己下一部小说的创作。。故事发生在腊月廿四，祭灶这一天。在做完祭灶准备后，馋嘴的小乎离想要偷吃祭拜灶神的灶糖，多次偷吃未果，被警告后依旧贼心不死，后被贴画中冒出的灶神吓到，了解到了祭灶由来与灶神的职责所在。。
