Set against the backdrop of Jewish oppression in first-century Israel, the series shares an authentic look at Jesus' revolutionary life and teachings.。离乡多年的雷福兴，因为儿子意外离世（儿子公园湖里救人），加之对儿子从小到大抚养的愧疚之情，想带着儿子的骨灰回到家乡，落叶归根，让儿子入土为安。但回乡之后，却遇到了重重阻挠，身为族长的二叔因为“老的不死，小的不能进祖坟”族训，不允许福兴儿子埋进祖坟，福兴面对着陈旧的族训，进行了作为父亲和新时代思想对封建一派的抗争。最终，那教条般的陈规还是成为了无法弥合的枷锁，福兴只能带着儿子的骨灰，在北方的原野中独孤的游荡。。
