黄海为人不学无术，于日本新宿以各种手法求财，欠下黑帮一笔巨债，被逼无奈在新宿街头派发纸巾还债。某日巧碰患有轻度弱智的小学同学李子俊(黎明饰)。子俊因为与哥哥在旅游时候失散，于是决定死追着黄海不放。黄海既要应付黑帮追讨债务，又被这个弱智同学死缠烂打，苦不堪言。愤恼之时，黄海发现天真无邪的子俊竟然深得女性欢心。在经营酒吧的好友燕姐(杨贵媚饰)拉拢下，黄海想出利用子俊迅速敛财的妙计：将丑小鸭变为天鹅，将子俊变成陪酒男妓(俗称“鸭”)。黄海表面答应事成后替子俊寻找哥哥使他们团聚，因此子俊毫不怀疑，一口答应。由此二人展开一连串妙趣荒诞的经历，见尽光怪陆离的人物。 黄海只将子俊当成赚钱工具，而子俊的天真率直使他逐渐被感动，两个人在新宿相互扶持帮助。子俊的误打误撞使黄海重遇前妻阿绿(叶璇饰)，一连串的事件使两人的生活发生急剧变化，逐渐迷失东京……。Siskel and Ebert once ran a special show entitled "Movies I'm Embarrassed to Admit I Liked."
