民国时期，在某古镇，段家少爷段天铭因投身推翻清朝封建统治的革命而离家。突然，他接到爷爷去世的讣告，便带着女友回家奔丧。然而，女友却被镇上一位道士诬陷为“妖孽”，说她带来了不祥之气，会祸害全族。全族人竟要烧死段少爷的女友。此时，种种怪事接连发生：段少爷爷爷的遗体神秘失踪，段少爷的父亲也离奇死亡，还有美女仆人对他投怀送抱。解开重重疑惑、拯救女友的重任，都落在了段天铭的肩上。。肥猫千辛万苦寻回四个弟妹：年轻有为的医生二弟华世杰，大律师三妹婉容，美丽的四妹纪香，曾误入歧途的五弟丰收。然而好景不长，不幸的事情相继发生了：二弟妻儿因飞机失事双双遇难，世杰伤心过度驾车被撞成重伤；接连的打击使华老太太出现了精神分裂迹象而被送进了医院；三妹婉容的家庭表面风平浪静，内里却酝酿着大风浪；四妹因为疏忽将其苦心经营的婚纱店付之一炬；五弟丰收出狱后处处受人歧视，几乎丧失了面对生活的信心。面对变故，肥猫凭着热情和善良，鼓励亲人们积极渡过难关，他用憨态可掬的笑容告诉每一个人，无论生活给予了我们什么，始终都还是要相信，明天会更好，也许吧，也许明天会更好吧。。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. (Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。
