本作以剑道高手的青年·甚太为主人公，描写了从江户到平成的漫长岁月里人与鬼的关系。江户时代，山间的村落葛野有被称为“何时姬”的巫女。担任巫女护卫的甚太，某天在前往任务的森林中，遇到了述说着遥远未来的不可思议的鬼——。When Outlaws on the lam invade the home of an unsuspecting, seemingly innocent, frontier family to hide out for the night, an unexpected game of cat and mouse ensues, leading to seduction, role reversal, and ultimately, bloody revenge. 当亡命徒闯入毫无防备，看似无辜的家，身居边境的家庭趁夜逃离，猫鼠游戏却节外生枝，诱导迷惑，角色转换，最终，是血腥的复仇。。
