When he gets into trouble with his supplier, his sister is kidnapped and he is forced to rely on both his sleight of hand and brilliant mind to save her。农村妇女林慧独自在村里照顾上学的女儿和半身瘫痪的婆婆。与丈夫常年分居，夫妻感情有了嫌隙眼看着女儿考上大学，林慧打算把婆婆接到城里，自己也去找份工作，结束与丈夫十年分居的生活。谁知在这个当口上，女儿白妙突然被人杀死并曝尸荒野……。老闆何懋生（宋少卿飾）的捲款潛逃，引發一連串的骨牌效應。首當其衝的就是他的員工，林傑揚（庹宗華飾），傑揚一方面帶領一眾員工企圖自救，同時還得面對家中經濟的潰堤，而這也連帶讓傑揚的老婆和兒子，淑芬（林美貞飾）跟奮一（張豐豪飾）的人生因此產生劇變，而急需收入的淑芬，面臨老闆提出的桃色交易，她考慮是否應該接受…。
